During one of his many travels to Asia photographer Kai von Rabenau had the rare chance to portray a number of young females in an orphanage in the city of Bam in Iran. All children have been adopted by the owner of the orphanage hence carry his name as their new legacy. The white wall in front of which the photos were taken may be seen as their lost family background from which they stand out to build their new future.

Press Photography / 2010 / Berlin
Commissioned by Raster-Noton / Berlin

anbb is the unexpected collaboration between acclaimed artist and electronic producer Carsten Nicolai aka alva noto and the Einstuerzende Neubauten's legendary frontman Blixa Bargeld. Juxtaposing Bargeld's theatrical voice and charismatic persona with Nicolai's experimental approach to sound, anbb have created a dense and intense soundscape that is as intoxicating as it is disturbing.
